BASEES/EEGA Conference Report - Globalising Eastern Europe", 20 – 24 April 2021, Leipzig, Germany
Following the first successful Regional Conference in Uppsala, Sweden, the British Association for Slavonic and East European Studies (BASEES) organised its second Regional Conference in cooperation with the Leibniz ScienceCampus “Eastern Europe – Global Area” (EEGA) Annual Conference online in April 2021. This conference on “Globalising Eastern Europe – New Perspectives on Transregional Entanglements” discussed and compared new insights on border-crossing encounters. Aiming to bridge historical periods and geographical boundaries, BASEES and EEGA brought together perspectives and case studies from a variety of disciplines. International junior and senior scholars presented their research on Eastern Europe, as a region spanning from Poland in the West to Russia in the East, to the Balkans and the Caucasus in the South, and investigated its global and transregional entanglements.
