******* NOTICE *******
Please note that BASEES is currently seeking a new information officer, as this issue of the Newsletter will be my penultimate one. The details are as follows:
The role of the Information Officer mainly includes commissioning content for and editing the triannual BASEES Newsletter, and publicising BASEES activities through the Association's social media platforms. The Information Officer is also expected, with other BASEES committee members, to administer the JiscMail mailing list, including updating subscriber information, and parts of the website.
The role-holder will need to liaise with other committee members (in particular the President, the Treasurer, and members of the R&D committee), colleagues in the BASEES field, and certain external partners. The appointed person will join the BASEES committee and will be expected to attend committee meetings and the conference AGM with updates on all the above.
This is a voluntary role. However, there is a small annual allowance of £350 available for the role holder to attend academic events. This position would be starting from mid-February 2026, although if desired the in-coming officer could shadow with a view to co-editing the December 2025 issue of the newsletter. Handover training will be provided on all aspects of the role.
To apply, please send a CV and an Expression of Interest letter of around 500 words to Victoria.1.Hudson@kcl.ac.uk by 10 October 2025.
With best wishes for the forthcoming holiday season,
Victoria
