BASEES/EEGA Online Event: Research under the COVID-19 condition – Eastern Europe as a Global Area, 16 September
On 16 September 2020, the Leibniz ScienceCampus “Eastern Europe – Global Area” (EEGA) organises a small-scale event in place of the 2nd Regional Conference of the British Association for Slavonic and East European Studies (BASEES) on “Globalising Eastern Europe – New Perspectives on Transregional Entanglements”, originally planned for September 2020 in Leipzig and now postponed to April 2021.
The two-part panel discussion (45 minutes each) focuses on topical issues that have emerged in this turbulent year, and which will shape our work as researchers in the foreseeable future, namely 1) Research questions that arise because of the Covid-19 pandemic, and 2) Impacts of the Covid-19 pandemic on practicalities of empirical research. The event starts at 7 pm (local time) and features Gwendolyn Sasse (ZOiS), Judith Pallot (BASEES), Matthias Middell (EEGA), Gabriele Freitag (DGO), and Stefan Rohdewald (UL) as invited guests. It is moderated by Gemma Pörzgen (free journalist).
You are warmly invited to join the discussions online via live stream. Please complete the registration form to receive the access code for the live stream. For those who cannot participate, a video will be made available at EEGA’s website after the event.
